With the onset of Winter and the passing of the Winer solstice (yeah the days are getting longer now) we have some exciting news. Jim and Lesley, now in their 70's have decided it is time to step back and retire. Brigitte will be managing the Farmstay with the help of Larnie, Steve and Vanessa. Jim and Lesley will still reside on the farm, but will be free to pursue their own hobbies and interests.
There has been some building works afoot with a new undercover BBQ area and improvements to the cottage bathrooms.
The residents and visitors of Bright enjoyed a warm Autumn with lovely sunny days. Now, winter is upon us with its wintery chill and snow in the high country, we are all feeling it. A perfect time to snuggle close to the wood fire and enjoy its warmth.
However, Winter has its own charm, with the birth of young lambs. The air is crisp and invigorating. There is snow within a half hours drive and the farm activities still carry on.
If you need to go off farm then you can indulge in a winery walkabout, enjoy hiking, biking, or the gourmet foods and interest shops that the region has to offer.
On the farm, we have the usual poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and peacocks) with various chicks, guinea pigs and rabbits, pet sheep, goats and alpacas, horse and pig feeding.
The childrens play area now has an exciting new pirate ship cubby house for the children (under 10's) to play on and enjoy.ll be offering Childrens Farm Parties.
